Shared Video Experiences

Across the years, The CARE Project Media Director (Xris Kessler) has filmed many family stories for the purpose of sharing experiences with new groups of parents who become involved in TCP’s retreats, workshops and support groups.  These film segments bring a sense of comfort to parents with the realization that they are not alone, not broken, not isolated, that their child isThe-CARE-Project29 not unique and that there is support to be found amongst those families who share in these experiences. Dr. Sexton includes the shared experience video segments in all training to provide professionals with greater insight into what families experience outside the clinical environment.  In addition, TCP is now filming the professionals’ experiences with the families over their individual careers.  This new perspective has provided critical insight for families on what emotional impact is experienced by those individuals who are working with families day to day to address the issues related to having a child who is deaf or hard of hearing.
